Opportunites to Give
Making
a Difference at EUMC
Throughout the years, there are numerous opportunities for
you to share your time, talents, gifts and service.
Please do not feel like you have to do all of them – look over
the list and decides the ones to which God is calling you – and then
go for it!
Operation Christmas Child
– Fill one of the shoeboxes provided so that children in need around
the world will have a good Christmas!
A list of suggested items to put in the boxes is available.
Empty boxes are on the counter across from the Welcome Center.
Filled boxes should be returned no later than November 6th.
Sponsored by the United Methodist Women.
Rotating Homeless Shelter
– Our church is partnering with Wrights AME Church to sponsor the
shelter.
Help is needed for intake, dinner preparation and serving, hospitality
and overnight stays.
Donations of food and supplies are also needed.
To sign up to help, see the sign-up poster on the Missions
bulletin board in the Hospitality Area.
Mitten Tree
– The Ruth/Sarah Circle invites you to donate new hats, gloves,
scarves and underwear for children (from infant through 15 years) for
the Mitten Tree project.
Place donations in the bin in the Welcome Center area any Sunday in
November. The donations
will be delivered to the Help Center in early December.
Angel Tree Project
– Angel Tree provides Christmas presents for children of incarcerated
parents. On a Sunday in
November, the Angel Tree will be set up in the Welcome
Center area. Take an
angel ornament on which you will find a gift listed.
Return the gift (wrapped) and it, along with a Bible, will be
delivered to the recipient’s home.
Cookie Walk
- The United Methodist Women will have their annual Cookie Walk each
December.
In order to make this a success, they need lots and lots of
cookies, which means they need lots and lots of help from bakers in
our church! Sign up to
participate on one of the inserts that will appear in the bulletin, or
email Judy at
Tannerjudy31@gmail.com.
Poinsettias and Nets for Christmas Eve
– Purchase a poinsettia to adorn our sanctuary for our Christmas Eve
services in honor of or in memory of someone you love – or, if you
don’t want or need the poinsettia, make a donation toward the United
Methodist Church’s “Imagine No Malaria” campaign.
All names (for both poinsettias and anti-malaria nets) will be
listed in a bulletin insert on Christmas Eve and Christmas Sunday.
The first day to place your orders will be on the last Sunday
in November via a bulletin insert or
online here. .
